I didn’t have collision coverage on my car and someone ran into me damaging my car. Now I am being told the other driver does not have to pay me the full amount for the damage to my car. Is this true?
Regarding your question: “Collision Coverage Michigan?” Unfortunately, that probably is correct. Michigan law states that you must carry your own, but collision coverage on your own car is optional. If you don’t have collision coverage, the most you can get from the other driver or their insurance company is currently (as of November 2015) $1000. It’s called the mini-tort.
